Copper Pod Tree is native to tropical areas from Indo-China to northern Australia. It is a deciduous tree growing to a height of 15–25 m. The leaves are bipinnate, flowers golden yellow, produced in large compound raceme. The fruit is a pod, red at first, ripening black, and containing seeds. 

  • The masses of golden flowers in the summer making it a popular ornamental tree. 
  • The wood has a wide variety of uses, including cabinet-making, and the foliage is used as a fodder crop.
