Chinese Juniper is a coniferous evergreen tree native to China, Myanmar, Japan, Korea and the Russian Far East, grows up to 20 m tall. Juvenile leaves are needle-like and adult scale leaves. The plant is often dioecious. The blue-black berry-like cones have a whitish waxy bloom, and contain 2–4 seeds. The male cones, 2–4 mm long, shed their pollen in early spring.
