Clusia rosea is an evergreen, tropical and sub-tropical tree, hemiepiphyte, native to the Caribbean, including the Bahamas, Cuba, Hispaniola, Puerto Rico, and to Florida, southern Mexico, Central America, and northern South America from Ecuador to Colombia, Venezuela, and the Guianas. It can grow up to 25-30 ft. tall with short trunk. Leaves dark green, broad, leathery; flowers showy pinkish-white coloured at the end of branches; fruits fleshy, light green, turn black when ripen, attractive red coloured seeds.
