Artocarpus camansi is a medium-sized tree, native to New Guinea, the Maluku Islands, and the Philippines, grows up to a height of 35 m. Flowers occur at the tip of branches.
Fruit is syncarp, broad ovoid or globular with yellow-green colour, rind covered with fleshly prickles or spines. The fibrous core with 50 to 100 nut-like seeds embedded in a white, flaky and spongy-like pulp.
